Hi, my name is Keitaro!
I stumbled into the field of instructional design when I was teaching at a university. The school needed to revamp a statistics course, and I was asked to write one. I was happy to take on the task because I was teaching the same course and was frustrated by its content. Fortunately, I was paired with one of the best instructional designers and learned a lot from her.
I continued as a subject matter expert (SME) for multiple courses. When I moved up to the department chair role, I also acted as an instructional design project manager, overseeing the course development from concept to release.
I am skilled in project management and use both traditional methods and new technologies, such as shared task tracker spreadsheets, Teams/Zoom, SharePoint, and focused meetings with clear agendas and objectives. Additionally, I have experience collaborating with SMEs to deliver learning content on time.
Apart from my work, I am an avid snorkeler and ocean cruiser. My wife and I love to travel to the Caribbean Sea whenever possible. We have recently visited the Pacific Coast, New England, Canada, and Alaska.
I would be happy to chat with you about how we can collaborate to elevate learning!
